Scandinavian Road Trip: Stockholm
Never in my life had I imagined I would see Sweden. I can’t say it was even remotely on my radar. Perhaps it was my complete lack of knowledge about the country, or writing it off because of the 10+ hour flight, or maybe it was just my notoriously high levels of complacency when it comes to travel... Regardless of the reason, having now experienced this incredible land, I wouldn’t want to imagine a world without it.
In true Snyder family travel style, this trip came together at the last minute after our plans to visit Bali unexpectedly fell through. Jessie however, being the “anything is possible” master trip planning powerhouse that she is, put together this absolutely incredible Scandinavian road trip from Stockholm to Copenhagen in record time (it of course helped that she had basically been dreaming, scheming, and planning a trip like this since she was 16 years old). Quickly, we booked our flights, reserved a car, arranged airbnb’s and a couple weeks later, found ourselves sitting on a plane flying halfway across the world.
With our strong love for road trips, the plan was to start in Stockholm and then drive west through the Swedish country side to Dalsland. From there we would make our way over to the coastal island of Tjorn and then head south and over the Øresund Bridge until we got to Copenhagen in Denmark. The photos below are of our time in Stockholm, part 1 of 4 in this Scandinavian Road Trip series.
Stay tuned for part 2 of 4 in this journal series, where we will travel west through the Swedish country side to Dalsland.
